Spud Speedway SnowBowl 2026 | Maine’s Biggest Snowmobile Race & Winter Motorsports Festival

Spud Speedway & SnowBowl 2026: Maine’s Premier Snowmobile Racing Event

Rising proudly from the potato fields of Caribou, Maine, Spud Speedway is a true icon of New England motorsports. Since its founding in 1964, the speedway has delivered generations of high-octane racing, unforgettable winter events, and family-friendly entertainment. Today, it stands as one of northern Maine’s most exciting destinations for snowmobile racing, SnoCross, hill climbs, and winter motorsports festivals.

The crown jewel of the winter season is the 4th Annual Spud Speedway SnowBowl 2026, Maine’s largest snowmobile event of the year—bringing together racers, riders, and spectators from across the state and beyond.

🏁 The History of Spud Speedway

Spud Speedway was the vision of Bob Knowles of Unity, Maine, who came to Aroostook County in 1964 with a dream of building a brand-new speedway for the community. Originally constructed as a dirt track, the speedway was paved just one year later and quickly became a proving ground for some of the best racers in New England.

Over the decades, Spud Speedway has been known for its door-to-door racing action and has helped launch the careers of legendary drivers, including:

  • Bobby Alexander – Maine Racing Hall of Fame

  • Mark Jones – Maine Racing Hall of Fame

  • “The Flying Frenchman” Ernie Levesque – Maine Racing Hall of Fame

  • Austin Theriault – NASCAR driver & ARCA National Champion

Since 2009, Spud Speedway has undergone a complete transformation, with major upgrades and improvements that ensure the facility will continue providing safe, exciting, and family-friendly racing entertainment for decades to come.
