If you're passionate about paddling and seeking the best canoe and kayak races in Maine, look no further. Outdoor Adventure Maine proudly presents the 2025 Upcoming Canoe & Kayak Race Schedule, compiled with help from MACKRO.org. From thrilling whitewater rapids to scenic flatwater runs, this season promises excitement, competition, and unforgettable outdoor experiences. Whether you're a seasoned racer or a recreational paddler, there's a race for everyone!

Sunday, May 18 – Union River Race

  • Time: 11:00 AM

  • Location: Grand Lake Dam to Ellsworth town dock

  • Type: Whitewater, 4.5 miles, 1 portage

  • Registration: 9:00–10:30 AM, $20 cash

  • Perk: Post-race potluck mussel feed at Ellsworth Harbor Park!


Sunday, May 18 – 1st Annual Tylor Kelly’s Allagash Dash

  • Time: 10:00 AM

  • Location: Allagash to St. Francis

  • Type: Whitewater, 15 miles

  • Registration: 8:00–9:30 AM ($20-25 depending on ACA membership)

May 23–25 – 56th Annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta (Cooperstown, NY)

Saturday, June 7 – Millinocket X-Stream Canoe Race

  • Time: 8:00–10:00 AM Registration | 10:15 AM Race Meeting

  • Location: Start: Below Millinocket Lake Dam | Finish: Kermit Crandall Park

  • Type: Solid Class III whitewater

  • Registration: $25 ACA members, $35 non-members

Saturday, June 21 – Royal River Rumble

  • Time: Registration 9:30–10:30 AM | Race Start: 11:00 AM

  • Location: Dunn’s Depot Trail, 497-551 State Route 9, North Yarmouth, ME

  • Type: Two distance options!

    • Long Course: 11 miles

    • Short Course: 5 miles

  • Other Info: Fun race along the scenic Royal River with easy logistics — start and finish at the same spot!


Saturday–Sunday, June 21–22 – The Rangeley Oquossoc Adventure Rendezvous (ROAR)

  • Location: Rangeley Lakes Region

  • Type: Two-day, 40-mile paddling stage race!

  • About: Part of Maine’s High Peaks PaddleFest, this event showcases the best of the Rangeley Lakes with a scenic and challenging course through spectacular waters and lands.
