While the historic hotel is long gone, the golf course remains a serene and challenging retreat, with Mount Kineo rising 1,798 feet above the lake as its dramatic backdrop. It’s the only golf course in Maine where you can tee off with moose, loons, and stunning lake views just a few feet away.

🚤 Mount Kineo Shuttle Service

With no road access to Kineo, the Mount Kineo Shuttle is your gateway to golf, hiking, and sightseeing. It departs from the Rockwood Public Landing, just a 10-minute ride across Moosehead Lake.

  • May & June: 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM

  • July & August: Hourly from 8 AM – 6 PM

  • Sept & Oct: Hourly from 9 AM – 4 PM

Head north on Route 6/15 for 19.5 miles. Turn right at the sign for the Kineo Docks in Rockwood. Park and take the 10-minute shuttle ride across the lake to reach the golf course.
