Cardboard Box Race at Pleasant Mountain – A Fun-Filled Winter Event March 8, 2025!

Save your big cardboard boxes! You'll need them for Pleasant Mountain's 10th (nearly) annual Cardboard Box Race. This exciting and creative winter event is perfect for families, friends, and teams looking to put their crafting and racing skills to the test. Get ready to slide down the Main Slope in your homemade cardboard vehicle and compete for prizes in speed and creativity! A fun event to participate in Cardboard Box Race at Pleasant Mountain.

  • Registration: 9 AM - 12 PM at Guest Services

  • Race Start: 1 PM on the Main Slope

  • Meeting Spot for Judging: Sugar Shack at 12:45 PM


How to Participate:

  • Teams of up to 4 people can register before 11:30 AM at Guest Services.

  • Participants must have a valid lift ticket or season pass.

  • Helmets are required for all racers.

  • A liability waiver must be signed for each race member. Parents or legal guardians must sign on behalf of all racers under the age of 18.


Cardboard Box Construction Rules:

  • The bottom of your cardboard box must consist entirely of cardboard—no duct tape or plastic surfaces.

  • The structure must be made of only cardboard and cannot be reinforced or weighted in any way.

  • All cardboard vehicles will be inspected to ensure they meet racing guidelines prior to racing.


Prizes & Judging:

  • Awards will be given for the best and most uniquely decorated cardboard box.

  • The fastest team to the finish line will also be recognized!
