🎆 A Tradition That Lights Up the Harbor

The Lighted Boat Parade is one of Boothbay’s most cherished holiday celebrations—drawing locals, photographers, and visitors from across New England.

Here’s what makes it unforgettable:


✨ Lighted Boat Parade (6:45 p.m.)

Watch beautifully decorated boats, wrapped in twinkling lights and festive décor, enter the harbor from the west and circle clockwise around the inner harbor.


  • The fleet makes two full loops

  • Local clergy perform the Blessing of the Fleet

  • Judges include winners of the Lighted Firetruck Parade

  • Spectators get stunning views from multiple harborside vantage points


🎇 Fireworks Over the Water

After the parade, look to the sky as the Town of Boothbay Harbor presents a brilliant fireworks display that reflects off the ocean—one of the most magical sights of the season.
